We have introduced the idea of a Pupil Parliament at Stag Lane Middle School for the purpose of making rules that impact on the children in the playground. We intend to elect the Parliament in a democratic way so that the pupils have a taste of politics and how politics influence our lives. We will run campaigns and elections in the near future. The pupils will form the House of Commons while the staff will be in the House of Lords.

Class 6D got us off to a flying start with their  assembly about Parliament

We started the Parliament Assembly as Hanad introduced that the class were going to perform a play, give some presentations and some speeches as why we wanted to be in our school Parliament.

Then we started our play. Busayo and Pratik come back from school and they were talking about their homework - the Parliament project they had to do. Pratik said  he would lie to his teacher because when he got home he was going to watch TV.

The Parliament Fairy came and said "Why won't you do your project?"

Then the others in our class discussed Parliament and Pratik said "I am going to tell everyone about the Parliament Fairy" 

The Parliament Fairy says "Up,up and away!",  but does not go. Then she says "Fly, Robin Fly!",  but that does not work so she says "Go Go Gadget Legs!", but that does not work as well. So she asked Pratik if he had any money for the bus.
