Education is vital for children to grow up happy and healthy, and to end poverty around the world.
There are currently over 80 million children out of school and over 18 million teachers needed to get them all into school by 2015. World leaders can help change this situation.

We urge world leaders:

  • To keep their promises to give more aid, to give free education worldwide now.
  • To work together with other rich countries to get money to where it is most needed, in an organised way.
  • To use their powers to remove blocks that stop countries giving more jobs to teachers.
  • To call for debts to be cancelled for more countries.
  • To make sure that primary school education is a reality for children.
  • We believe that education is a right for everyone, so we urge you to join us and support our campaign.

In the Year 2000, World Leaders made a number of promises.  They called these:The Millennium Development Goals.

There are 8 Goals, which have the aim of ending world poverty. One of the goals is to make sure all children go to primary school. Another is to make sure less children and mothers die when babies are born.

World leaders promised that they could make all of the targets happen by 2015. Many people think this is not possible, because things are happening too slowly, and world leaders are not giving enough money.  So please join us and support our campaign.

We are proud to be taking part in the Join Up campaign.  Over 8000 other schools and millions of children have also joined the campaign.  We all want to be heard and to show world leaders that we want to be listened to.  We have made paper chains and written messages on them and will be sending these to Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor.  This is because she is in charge of two groups called the G8 and the European Union. As the chairwoman of the G8 and the European Union, Angela will decide all the things that will be talked about at the meetings of these groups. We want to make sure that the G8 talk about children who miss out on school.  So please join us and support our campaign.
