Letting School Know
If your child is ill, please let the school know as soon as possible on the first day of absence.
Ways to let us know
- A note with an older brother or sister.
- A telephone call to 020 8952 2731 and ask for Mrs Cook. The office is staffed from 8.30 a.m. but please be aware that the line is often busy.
We will attempt to contact you if your child is not in school and we have not had a reason for absence, it is therefore essential that we have a current number on which to contact you.
Absent for more than one day?
If a child is absent on one day we will assume he or she continues to be absent for the same reason on any subsequent days up to a maximum of 5 school days. After this we would then expect a further note or telephone call.
Medical/Dental Appointments
In the interest of safety no child will be permitted to leave the school for a medical or dental appointment during school hours without a written request from the parent, giving the reason for the request and the time to leave school.Children must be collected from outside the Secretary's office inside the school building.
Health-Accident or Sudden Illness
In case you need to be contacted in an emergency, please ensure the school has up to date telephone numbers. It is essential that parents can be contacted quickly if children are ill.
Medical Conditions/Medication
Please notify us of any medical conditions, permanent or temporary, which may affect your child in school e.g. asthma, allergies.
If your child requires medication during the day please either come into school to see the welfare assistants or send in a note clearly stating the name of the medication, the dose and the time it should be given. Only medication prescribed by a doctor will be administered.
Not collecting your child?
If your child is going home with someone else, please write a note to their class teacher - it saves confusion. If you collect your child, please inform the school if you know you are going to be delayed
.
Changes at Home?
