On 15 February 2007 Stag Lane Middle School

was validated and successfully gained "Healthy Schools" status.

We were visited by 4 assessors, who spent a morning meeting with Mrs Evans, Mrs Jamieson, Mrs Nagli, Mrs Queally, Mr Davies, Teaching Assistants, SMSAs, Governors, Parents/Carers, other professionals and pupils.  They inspected written documentation that fulfilled criteria based on school policy and practice and were given a tour of the school by our Head and Deputy Head Boys and Girls.

They were extremely complimentary about

Stag Lane Middle School
and particularly commented on the behaviour and confidence of the children, and the informative and attractive environment of the school.

We demonstrated how we contribute to the Five National Outcomes for children stipulated by 'Every Child Matters' and the Children's Act (2004)- being healthy; staying safe; enjoying and achieving; making a positive contribution; and economic well being.

As a Healthy School we now have tangible and authoritative evidence to support our self-evaluation and an Ofsted inspection, and our achievements will be recorded on the National Healthy Schools Programme national database to profile our success with Ofsted and other government agencies.

Our thanks must go to the whole school community for helping to achieve this success.
