On 12th October Year 6 went on their annual trip to the RAF Museum in Hendon as part of the World War II topic on History. Here they looked at the exhibits of planes and bombshelters. They also took part in a mock 1939 lesson where they made a gas mask box and took shelter under the table in a simulated air raid! They also used the hands on interactive display where there were lots of mechanical/science activities to play on.

In the same week Year 6 were also visited by Mrs Clements, a local resident of many years and grandparent of children who have been through the school. Mrs Clements was an evacuee in the Second World War and talked to the children about what it was liked, she also showed them the food rations people received and the children got ask many questions. We are extrememly grateful to Mrs Clements for giving up her time to come and talk to the children.
