We are pleased to inform you that Stag Lane Middle School have been invited to participate in a Key Stage2 personal safety programme called the missdorothy.com project.

It is an innovative approach to learning about personal behaviour and safety. It addresses prorities such as the protection of children, raising self esteem, encouraging social inclusion, promoting citizenship and celebrating diversity

missdorothy.com, or Dot.com to her friends, is a cartoon celebrity designed to facilitate learning by fun.

She was also created to raise awareness of the needs of children and keep them safe.

Dot is a friend for all children with her own website

missdorothy.com where children can read Dot's diary every day, her adventures every week and talk to Dot anytime by emailing dot@missdorothy.com.

Children love to email her and receive a reply.

All pupils in Key Stage 2 will receive their own workbook. There is a workbook for years3/4 and a book for Year 5 and Year 6. The programme will be taught for approximately one hour a week for fifteen weeks

In Year 7 the programme will be delivered through a teen soap called 'watch over me'.

All lessons are cross referenced to the National Curriculum, where applicable, and embrace the five National Outcomes for Children.

The programme was officially launched in Harrow on 6th November 2007.

If you would like to see any of the material please see your child's teacher. The children will be bringing their booklet home on a regular basis as homework. They may require you to discuss issues with them.

The programme embraces the concept that children need to feel good about themselves, to become effective learners in the classroom.

We are excited about being part of the programme and would welcome any feedback from parents and children
